As you asked: The track is from their album Honestly - I Love You *Cough*Swedish/Spanish Daniel Cirera grew up in Rosengård and Höllviken outside Malmö, Sweden. Throughout his childhood his mom constantly played Spanish hero, Julio Iglesias, while his dad was cranking soul classics like Marvin Gaye and James Brown on the stereo. At the age of nine he discovered rock music for the first time, after hearing Poison's “Talk dirty to me” on the radio. Inspired by glam rock and Poison guitarist, CC Deville, Daniel started to figure out how to play guitar on his own, and has written songs ever since.
Daniel Cirera started recording the album “Honestly – I love you *cough*” at home in 2002 with his room-mate Anders Alexander (Alice in Videoland). Daniel's self revealing, uncensored and fucked up lyrics played over jazzy guitars soon created a hype in Stockholm and Malmö which led to the collaboration with Buffalo Songs late 2003, and with Bonnier Amigo Music Group early 2004 - Cirera was born.
The songs on the album are written while traveling alone through Central America, or while living in Madrid and in the USA, at a time when Daniel needed to get away from Sweden to reflect on good things gone bad. The songs are actual pieces of his diary played over simple chords and weren't even intended to see the light of day, nor end up on record - it just happened when the word about his music got around.
Cirera consists of Daniel Cirera on vocals & guitar, Jens Back (Hovet, Lars Winnerbäck) on the piano & bas, and Urban Robertsson (Speaker) on drums.
